Ragnarok, Crona's weapon from Soul Eater, is complete.
As with all of our other props and projects, we will be selling this and will commission more if you're interested.
We are currently asking $100 for this version of Ragnarok. If you are interested, or would like to talk about alternative amounts or payment types, please send us a note.
If you would rather have a different version of the sword, for instance when Ragnarok consumes the hoard of human souls upon the ship in season 2 or after he has been weakened substantially, we are willing to do so. Or if you would prefer a different mouth expression, we can do that as well!
Of course we could! We have another version of the sword in the final stages of touch up now. The only real difference is the mouth, but we can certainly do other variations. Below is a link to our gallery of our Ragnarok...
Ours is actually just a half inch thick length of pine wood that you can pick up from your local hardware store, like Lowes or Home Depot. To get the point and blade edges, 5t4rw1nd87 actually sanded it by hand with some heavy grit paper on a block. It took a lot of effort and about an hour all told. There are other alternatives to this if you would prefer not to have a very sore arm. The most efficient is to find someone with a belt sander, or barring that you could cut a rough edge and then sand it smooth. Either should be considerably easier than what he chose to do.
The mouth can be tricky. If you want it to be 3D, you can use an air dry clay. You will want to reinforce the tongue if you go this route, so that it doesn't just break from a small hit. Ours is actually a small wire frame with some plaster wrap around it to give the shape and clay build up to fill it in. The lips and teeth are simply more air dry clay. Make sure to glue the mouth on with something strong, I believe we used hot glue.
For the straps below the mouth, a roll of gauze works wonderfully. Alternatively you can use more plaster wrap, both of them with give you the correct texture. You can use many things for the tabs, including furniture nail heads or small thumb tacks.
The guard and pommel are just more clay work. We wrapped the handle with gauze and secured it on the ends. Then all that is left is the paint!
I cannot stress this enough, after having seen other attempts at Ragnarok. Please use painter's tape or some alternative to paint the white line down the blade. It will give you the crisp lines and keep it straight.
I hope all of this helps, and would love to see your work when complete! If you have any further questions, please ask away.
We used pine board for the blade portion, air dry clay for much of the pommel and guard, some medical gauze for the grip with poplar doweling underneath. The mouth is a more clay with a wire skeleton wrapped in plaster wrap for the tongue. All of the paint is acrylic.

What materials did you used to do the sword?
Thanks for the comment!
